A thought for today...
I recently admired my friend's $220 Dyson DC16 - it's the battery
powered handheld mini-vac by Dyson for small jobs. We own a DC17 upright
vac and LOVE it. Anyway, my dear hubby saw a DC16 at our neighbors
garage sale this morning and bought it for $3. The owner said it turned
on but wouldn't stay running (we tried, and it didn't), but my DH thought
for $3 he could have a new project. Needless to say, after reading a few Dyson trouble
shooting forums and calling customer service, and a bit of tinkering, my
amazing hubby got the dang thing to work (loose battery connection)! He
thinks it may need a $40 battery but it will stay running now....what a
handy guy I married!
The moral of the story is to always be on
the lookout for great deals. They may come in different shapes, sizes,
prices and locations!

Update: We ended up buying a $40 battery and an $8 convertor attachment so we can use all of our upright tools with the handvac. We spent $52 for a $220 unit and we LOVE IT! This thing is like a Dustbuster on steroids!!!
